The Burwell community allotment provides a space for members of the local community to grow food, support local wildlife and build connections to others.
Who or what is Burwell Community Growers?
- We provide a community outdoor space with activities directly or indirectly related to growing food
- We provide quiet place to de-stress (eg. we have a beautiful orchard garden with a wildlife pond)
- We ask each member to take responsibility for a modest 1m2 of ground (keen members will have more)
Why get involved?
- Membership is open to any adult willing to “adopt a square metre” (or more, subject to interest and availability)
- Membership is free and maintained as a WhatsApp group (TBA)
- Join at any time of the year
- Grow what you want (within allotment regulations)
- Quiet communing with nature in the gardens
- Meet other growers
- Join in with community jobs and occasional social events
- Become a community leader
